Spiritual Twist - Rolemodel Studios - Producing Stories of Life

lmost twenty years ago, Natalie Snapp was asked to do a Christian summer theatre camp. She thought “‘Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow.’ (James 1:17 NASB). But the world has taken the gift of the performing arts and twisted it. It’s time to twist it back.”

From that camp, a vision for training up young people in the performing arts in a Christian context as a medium for Christian ministry was born, and so was Spiritual Twist Productions. Young people from age 4 to their twenties (and beyond) have been trained through Spiritual Twist Productions.

Shortly after starting the company, Natalie Snapp was discouraged by the dearth of good Christian Musicals. So, she started writing her own, based on:

Adaptations of classic literature like “Little Women”, “Oliver Twist”, “Through the Looking Glass”, “Anne of Green Gables”, “Les Miserables”, or “The Secret Garden”.
Well-known fairy tales like “Cinderella”, “The Princess and the Pea”, and “Beauty and the Beast”. A few of the fairy tales, like “Sleeping Beauty”, are turned into delightful allegories right out of God's Word.
Original scripts based on historical figures like “The Reformation of Katherine” (the story of Martin Luther and his wife, Katherine von Bora and their lives together during the Reformation) or legends like “Genesius” (a pagan actor in ancient Rome turned Christian martyr).

Many have been blessed by the amazing performances this group brings to the stage several times a year. Many have wanted to capture these performances so they can watch them again and be encouraged and challenged through them, or share them with others. But it is difficult to capture live theatre for many reasons and many attempts to do so by well-meaning people fell flat. RoleModel Studios wanted to change this. And we have…
